Sort of like a backhanded compliment in the first person in tweet form. e.g. 'my eye bags are disgusting from getting up at 5am to go to my booksigning at Selfridges today...' Very good ! I see what you have done here. A humblebrag within a humblebrag! It's almost like watching the movie Inception. By mentioning old @humblebrag alongside the articles, it lessens the effect. Ha. Genius :-)

ReplyDeleteI just read your Times article, it was really good! For me, the worst thing was loosing my eyelashes and I'm very happy to say that they're growing back very well! Sometimes I just sit and apply LOADS of mascara, just because I can. I know that sounds very pathetic but I guess you will understand. I also find people seem very surprised at 'how well I look'. It's as if people want me to turn up to things with no make up on and a bald head! Yesterday, at a family do, one distant cousin was looking to speak to me and was shocked when we spoke as she was, 'looking for someone who looked really ill'. I think there's a compliment there somewhere..?!
I've been keeping up with your blog since reading your original article in Look, and I think it is great. There isn't really much information about beauty products/skincare for those going through chemotherapy/after chemo and it's something I'm now really interested in - so thanks! Obviously it's not great that you had to go through all this in order to find out though..
